Jean’s Growth Gem April 4th

Jean’s Growth Gems’ mission is to help readers prosper

This week’s noted point:  Leadership

The hardest part of growing your business, your team or your division is not scaling up the operations and the business model.  The hardest part is growing your own capabilities as a leader.

Why?  When your company is growing you usually need to acquire new skills.  Think of it this way.  On a sports team, you start off as a player.  You can then move on to become the coach.  From that role, you become the general manger and finally the league commissioner. Where are you in the process?  What role are you playing now and what role do you want to become?

What skills do you need to acquire?  At the very least, start with a self-assessment of who you are.  Listen to the 360 feedback.  Reflect of the positive and the negative.  Even though you may not like what those around you have to say, that information can help you breakthrough to the next level of leadership which is what your growing company requires in order for it and you to be even more success.

Do you want to be a Published Author?  If you just can’t seem to get that book written, then start with 1500 words.  Join our next anthology book project and get your name on the front cover.  You will be a published author by June 2016.  Click here to get the details.

Growth Gem Viewpoint:  “Risk is essential. There is not growth of inspiration in staying within what is safe and comfortable. Once you find out what you do best, why not try something else?” – Alex Noble
